Thomas J. Smith, age 91, passed away February 15, 2020 after a long and happy life. He was born May 17, 1928 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Charles and Irene Smith and moved to Woodburn, Oregon as a young teen. After graduating from high school, he boarded a train to Chicago to attend the highly proclaimed Coyne Electrical School. He moved to Kitsap County to take a job in the Bremerton Navy Yard and married his wife Mary. This last year they celebrated 64 yeas of marriage. He retired from the Bremerton Navy Yard, worked at Mannette TV, then built a successful electrical business, where in the 70-80’s he wired many new construction homes and built several homes in Kitsap County.
A Celebration of life mass will be held February 27, 2020 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 4215 Pine Rd NE Bremerton, WA . The rosary will be recited at 10:30 followed the Mass at 11:00 am.
Surviving family include his wife, Mary, children, Carl, Margaret Orn, Greg, (of Bremerton, WA) and Geraldine Widell (of Chimacum, WA). He was blessed to have seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
