Suzanne Mary Cannon (aka Suzy, Suzanne Mary Williams) was born in Coronado, San Diego, CA on November 6th, 1951, to Gordon and Muriel Williams. As a military family, the Williamses moved frequently and ultimately settled in Bremerton, WA in 1960.
As a youth, Suzy trained with Margie Speck’s dance studio and received a full scholarship to the San Francisco Ballet Company. Suzy was also a gifted singer and belonged to multiple chorus clubs in school. She graduated from West High School in 1969 and shortly after, received her Associates of Arts degree from Olympic College.
She married Peter Stockwell (1971), and they had three children together: Sarah, David and Michelle. She also had one daughter: Jessica with Michael Schultz (1985). She then married William Cannon Jr. (1995) in Kitsap, Washington.
Suzanne is survived by her four children: Sarah, David, Michelle (Jonathan Hoehne), and Jessica (Nickolas Neice), her six grandchildren: Haiden, Lucas, Charlotte, Taren, Westen, and Lilah, her two sisters: Maureen (Bill Zimmerman), and Julia, her niece Claire, and nephew Jeff, and her family friend Marsha. She is predeceased by her brother Stan (2019) of Silverdale, WA and her cousin Brenda (2016) of Gahanna, OH.
When Suzanne wasn’t busy being a mother/grandmother, one of her favorite things to do was to curl up and read a good book. She loved reading books based on mystery, drama, romance, and Victorian fiction. On days when the weather permitted, she enjoyed going for nature walks and admiring the local gardens in her community.
Her service will be held Sat., January 21st at noon at the Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton, WA.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to any of the following organizations Suzy cared about: St Jude Children’s Hospital, Kitsap County Parks Department, West Sound Arts Council, and Kitsap Regional Libraries.
As a mother, a grandmother, a sister, an aunt, and a friend, Suzanne will be most remembered for her musicality, her impressive book collection, her charming smile, and her appreciation of the simple things in life.
