Ronald Anthony Campagna, age 85, passed away on September 16, 2017 after experiencing several complications related to a spinal cord injury experienced earlier this year. He was born September 12, 1932 in San Francisco, California.
Ronald was a career Navy man. He met and married Hideko Kuwahara while stationed in Japan. They were married for 63 years. He spent 30 years in the Navy and when he retired they moved to Fairburn Georgia where for 10 years he taught at Atlanta Area Technical School. When he retired from there, he and Hideko moved to Silverdale Washington where for the last 22 years they have enjoyed their retirement. Ron and Hideko loved traveling. Highlights of their travels include trips to Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Thailand, Russia, Germany, Austria, Spain and of course many trips to Japan.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Augustus and Florence Campagna. Ron is survived by his devoted wife Hideko, his son and daughter in law James and Donna, grandchildren Garrett and Rachel as well as his brothers Donald and Tony and sister Diane.
A Celebration of Life Ron’s life will be held at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home located at 5505 Kitsap Way in Bremerton Washington from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 23rd. Presentation of the flag will take place at about 2:00. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Veteran of Foreign Wars.
