Born Sept. 13, 1945 in Elgin, North Dakota, Rod graduated from Moses Lake High School (WA) in 1963. Later, he graduated from Gonzaga University, studying Theology and Russian language.
Rod was a light-weight golden glove boxer, licensed maritime captain, avid boat builder, car restorer, and motorcyclist. There really wasn’t much that didn’t capture his interest, at one time, or another. And, he liked donuts…a lot.
As a father, Rod coached his sons’ football and soccer teams and “never missed his sons’ sporting events.” He was also honored to perform the marriages of three of his sons, Shaun, Matthew and Roger.
Rod is survived by his wife, Marcia Parker, sons, Shaun Jones (Susan), Kelly Jones (Nicole), and Roger Arnold (Alisha), daughter-in law, Stephanie Jones, grandchildren, Blythe, Tyler, Keegan, Cailee, and Madison, great-grandson, Forrest, and sister, Jean Jones. He was preceded by his father, Merle Jones, Mother, Elizabeth (Herner) Jones, and son, Matthew Jones.
