Marilyn L Moen, age 96, of BremertonMarilyn Moen (maiden name, Walker) was born October 18th 1928 in Sherwood, North Dakota, and died March 26, 2025 in Bremerton, WA. As a child, Marilyn moved to Kenmare, North Dakota with her family. They attended Nazareth Lutheran Church. Her dad owned a meat locker in town. Marilyn had a brother, Robert, who died in his late teens or early twenties. Marilyn married Bennie Moen in 1953. They both moved from North Dakota when Bennie got a job here. They joined Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Bremerton in the early 1960’s, and was an active participant in church life. Marilyn was a Purchase Supervisor at the Naval Supply Center, Puget Sound in starting in the early 1980’s and retiring in 1995. Bennie died in 1995. Marilyn enjoyed being a volunteer in the gift shop at Harrison hospital.
Marilyn loved Christmas and Halloween and had open houses where she had totally decorated her home and yard. Marilyn was well known for hosting guests at her home, and served many wonderful dishes. She had a deep love and compassion for all animals, especially dogs, cats, birds and squirrels. She was a very special donor to the Kitsap Humane Society as part of their “Friends Forever Society.” She also loved to garden and shared advice and gardening stories with people. Wherever Marilyn was, she made many friends and loved to visit.
There will be a Visitation 11:00am Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church - 1015 Veneta Ave, Bremerton, WA 98337, immediately followed by a funeral service at 12:00.
A graveside service will follow at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
