Her mother was born in Norway and immigrated to the U.S. in 1912 through Ellis Island, one voyage before the Titanic. The family made homes in Canada and Seattle, WA., where her brother Don was born in 1927, eventually settling in Bremerton, WA.
On October 9, 1943 she was married to Emanuel G. (Bud) Anderson, and soon after he left for Guam for his Navy service. Daughter Beverly Jean was born in 1944 and was 16 months old before her father returned home. Second child, daughter Barbara Jean born in 1962, a much loved second blessing.
During the following years she worked as a stuffer at the Bremerton Sun newspaper, which she enjoyed very much, and made life long friends.
Lily devoted her life to being a homemaker, excelling in sewing, canning, cooking, and baking the most wonderful Norwegian cookies, but most important to her was her faith in Jesus Christ. Over 65 years of service to different areas of church work included teaching Sunday School, Choir, Women’s Ministries, Vacation Bible School, and heading up many assorted special programs which she thoroughly loved and felt was her mission.
She was predeceased by her husband Bud in 2005 after 62 years of marriage, and her brother Don of California in 2013.
Survivors include her daughters Beverly Kimrey of Bremerton, WA, and Barbara Judkins (Brian) of Poulsbo, WA. Grandchildren, David Kimrey(Betty) of Tacoma, WA, Donna Kimrey
Noel (Rick) of Reno, NV, Matthew Judkins of Poulsbo, WA, and Kirsten Judkins of Poulsbo,
WA. Great grandchildren include Ryan (22), Dylan (19) and Kayla (16) Noel of Reno, NV., and Hailey Kimrey(18) of Tacoma, WA. She is also survived by her special cousin Flora Jenken of B.C., Canada. Her family was very important to her and she loved them all!
Lily was very blessed to enjoy a long, healthy life, of which we are all thankful.
Interred at Miller-Woodlawn Cemetery, Bremerton, WA.
