On September 29, 2017, Joy Ellen Wright passed away of heart disease. She was born on December 18, 1922. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Hipp; three grandchildren, Angela Branson (Eric), Travis Schultz (Tonya), and Nathan Hipp; and three great-grandchildren, Austin Schultz, Dustin Brewer, and Allison Schultz.
She was preceded in death by her darling husband, Russell C. Wright; her precious daughter, Lila Schultz; her mother and father, Andrea and Earl Sines; and brothers, Andrew and Lyle Sines. Also many nieces and nephews here and in Nebraska.
She was a wonderful mother and grandma. She became a hairdresser in the late 1950s and enjoyed it very much.
Joy and Russell went to WA DC in the late 1960s and she couldn’t get enough of the history back there with the museums, Monticello, the White House, etc.
They remodeled several homes through the years ending up in a new house in Seabeck. Their favorite! She took up decorative painting while in Seabeck and was a natural at it. She did much flower gardening there and her yard was beautiful. Joy also belonged to Seabeck Library Club.
She moved to Crista Shores in 2009, and then to Crista Shores Assisted Living in June 2017. Their help to her was lovely and they were so very kind and caring. The family thanks you.
Also, the family would like to give a special thanks to the Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue for their assistance several times.
Joy’s motto was “Don’t Get Old”. We are so very thankful to have had “94” years of “Joy”.
Arrangements under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home, Bremerton, WA.
