In memory of John A. "Gus" Kinsman. John passed on June 5th, 2011. Born to William and Annette (Londergan) Kinsman in Boston Mass. on May 2nd 1926. He was destined to serve his country in the United States Navy from 1942 to his retirement in 1967.
Among the ships John served on were the U.S.S. San Diego, U.S.S. McNair, and the U.S.S. Ticonderoga. He saw plenty of action in WWII & Korea, sustaining a shrapnel wound in one of the many battles. After retiring, he continued working for the Navy as a Electronic Technician in Forest Park IL., then after it's closing transferred to Keyport Naval Torpedo Station retiring in 1990. His love of teaching, as he did the recruits at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, compelled him to teach voluntarily at Ridgetop Junior High School until 2007.
John is survived by his wife of 51 years Patricia Kinsman, son Rodney "Skip" Kinsman & his wife Rhonda, son James Kinsman & his wife Kristen, granddaughter Crystina and step granddaughters Lauren & Kennedy.
Cremation has already taken place. There will be a Military Ceremony at Miller-Woodlawn Bremerton on Friday June 17th at 1:00 p.m.
