Janice (Jan) Elaine Morries was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on September 21st, 1938, the third child of Eva Mae Watson and Oscar Joseph Morris. She was four when she moved to Bremerton, Washington. She is survived by sons: Larry, John, Ron and daughter: Betsi. Seven grandchildren: Tyler, Juli-Anna, David, Sidney, Emily, Myles, and Maddie. One Sister: Raedene Lea Tobin. Five Great Grand Children: Owen, Emrick, Kira-Lana, Sybil, and Bram. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Gerald A. Haynes; one Brother, Billy Lee Morris and one Sister, Marilyn Joann Benjamin. Jan joined the Harper Evangelical Free Church in 1984 where she taught children's Sunday School until 2004, when she was transferred to First Baptist Church of Port Orchard. She continued to be active in various ministries at FBCPO.
She loved children, especially her own. She enjoyed working with children and doing crafts, painting, drawing, sewing, needlework, cooking, biking, hiking, camping, fishing, and metal detecting. Jan retired from the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Chemistry Lab in 1995 and enjoyed retirement traveling aroundthe country with her husband and granddaughter, Sidney. She also loved watching her grandchildren grow up.
