James Dale Porter passed away 1/7/2016 in Belfair, after a battle with cancer. He was born 10/20/1946 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Jim was a career Navel Officer, retiring in 1988. He then became the Director of the Navel museum USS Turner Joy until 2005 when he fully retired. James was preceded in death by his parents and all but 1 sibling. He is survived by his sister Judy Kruger of Wisconsin, son Robert(CA), daughters Jamie and Crystal (OR) and sons James and Sean (WA). James had 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Services will be held aboard the USS Turner Joy at 1pm on Friday 1/15/2016. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please donate to the wounded warrior foundation.
