Henry “Hank” Clay Haggard stepped into the Light 17 October 2012. He was born 22 June 1929 in Tuttle, Grady County, Oklahoma. After graduation from High School he was inducted into the United States Navy, June 1948, by his Uncle “Chief” Kenneth Weeks. He served as Radioman, Communications Technician and Cryptologist for thirty years retiring 1 June 1978. He and his family were stationed in many countries throughout the world.
He enjoyed martial arts, scuba diving and running in his younger years and in later years he played golf and loved ballroom dancing.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of sixty-two years. A Daughter Jeri and husband Dan Curtis and granddaughter Leah, son Terry and wife Bettiann, grandson Jerry, wife Elizabeth and great grandson, William, grandson Henry, wife Gabrielle, great grandson Dominic and great granddaughter Anastasia. He had a large extended family and many friends that he loved.
Hank’s philosophy is summed up by this short verse:
“Life is not a journey to the grave, with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming, WOW! WHAT A RIDE!”
No services are planned at the present time. Family and friends will be notified when and where Hank’s Celebration of Life will take place.
