Harry Jay Thomas Schenk

Harry J. Thomas Schenk, 70, of Bremerton, passed away from cancer on July 24, 2011 at his home. He was born on September 19, 1940 in Tacoma, WA to Harry W. and Dolores (Gunderschwager) Schenk. Thomas proudly served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam era earning a Purple Heart and many other awards. Thomas married Betty Tritt on March 5, 1983 in San Diego, CA. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, model airplanes and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Schenk. Surviving are his wife, Betty; children, Daniel R. (Shirlee) Schenk, James Schenk, Michael (Laura) Schenk, William (Svetlana) Schenk, Paul (Tatiana) Schenk, Daniel L. Schenk, Spencer Schenk, Gary Nikolin, Adriana Schenk, Mary Nikolin, Ashlen Sorenson; sisters, Kathleen Tester, Mary (Gary) Heilbrun, Virginia Gilbertson, Lori Schenk; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be on July 30 at 3pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2225 Perry Avenue, Bremerton.
