George Anthony Carr Jr. entered into eternal rest on July 5, 2024 at the age of 86. Born in New Port, Rhode Island to the late George and Mary (Shea) Carr on February 18, 1938; he now reunites with his parents and brother, Robert Charles Carr.
George faithfully served his country in the United States Navy for over 30 years. He married the love of his life, Joan, and shared over 62 years together. They had one daughter, J’aime, whom they loved and adored. George and Joan enjoyed spending time together and traveled all over the world together. He was an avid fisherman and hunter; and he had a special love for dogs. He worked as a HAM radio operator and ran a repeated station on Gold Mountain. He also ran the Home Owners Association for over 20 years and enjoyed his time spent with family and close friends.
Left to honor his memories are his loving wife of over 62 years, Joan Carr; his daughter, J’aime Carr; grandchildren: Brian Miller, Kenneth George (Vanessa) Rushton, Jack Thomas Rushton; great-grandson, Leo Joseph Rushton; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family invites you to honor and celebrate his life with visitation beginning at 1030am on Friday, July 19, 20254 at St. Gabriels Catholic Church, 1150 Mitchell Ave SE, Port Orchard WA. Funeral Mass will follow at 11am with a graveside service at 2pm in Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park, 5505 Kitsap Way, Bremerton WA.
