The former Evelyn I Lowe, was born in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan and graduated from Soo High School in 1956. She served in the Navy’s medical field from 1956 to 1958. Her duty stations were Bainbridge, MD, Naval Hospital Bremerton, WA and Mc RD Parris, Island S.C.
While at Naval Hospital Bremerton she married Earl C. Wigle and native of Niagara Falls N. Y. He graduated from La Salle High School in 1955 and joined the Navy serving in the Medical Field and retiring 1978.
Together they were stationed from the East Coast to the West Coast serving with the Navy and Marine Corps. She was able to find time to attend Mesa Costa College Nursing School graduating with a degree in Nursing. Evelyn retired from Naval Hospital Bremerton in 1995
Whie on active duty Evelyn and Earl raised 4 children; 2 girls and 2 boys. They are Victoria(Terry) Hudson, of Lewiston, Idaho, Jenice Prutz of Vancouver, WA, David (Emilia) Wigle of Italy, and John (Pamela) Wigle of Silverdale, WA and 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Evelyn enjoyed reading, stained glass making, world travel and snowbirding to AZ. She was plank owner of the Military Women’s Memorial WA, D.C. and a member of the VFW Auxiliary an American Legion Auxiliary.
She will be buried in Miller-Woodlawn Cemetery with full Military Honors. Saturday April 19th. A visitation will be at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home from11:30am -12:30pm and a Funeral at 12:30pm.
