

Cliff Hurd of Port Orchard, WA passed away peacefully in the presence of his best friend Lynn Williams and his youngest son Ken Hurd at the age of 88 on July 25th. One of his last moments was seeing the pictures of his 6th great grandchild and only great granddaughter Olivia Marie Brown born July 23rd and in passing preceded the birth of his 7th great grandchild great grandson Gideon Wayne Alexander born July 29th. Cliff was a regular at the Clearwater Casino Keno Lounge. In his earlier days he loved to fish and spent many hours on the water fishing with his sons Ken and James. He particularly loved fishing for bass with Ken in Idaho. Other than his Air Force service in Hawaii and some time in Hermiston, OR and Brewster, WA he was a lifetime resident of the Bremerton and Port Orchard area. He was well known at the Bremerton Ship Yard during his work there as a Nuclear Machinist and Inspector, and also as a Real Estate agent in Port Orchard.
Cliff was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Hurd of Grass Valley, CA, mother Myrtle (Meukow) Hurd – Finney of Navy Yard City, WA, brother Raymond Hurd of Fircrest, WA, and sister Francis (Fran) Hurd - Tallman of Navy Yard City, WA.
Cliff is survived by his sister Maxine Hurd - Butcher of Port Orchard, WA, half-brother Eddie Finney of Bremerton, WA and half-sister Bonnie Finney of Silverdale, WA.
Cliff leaves a legacy with 2 sons: James Hurd and wife Linda of Oneida, NY and Ken Hurd and wife Adrienne of Kennewick, WA.
Cliff’s legacy also includes 1 grandson, 3 granddaughters, 6 great grandsons, 1 step great grandson and 1 great granddaughter: grandson Mark Hurd, (MSgt/E-7 USAF) and wife Katey with great grandsons Wyatt and Rhett Hurd of Mountain Home, ID; granddaughter Rebecca Hurd Alexander and husband Josh with great grandsons Ty, Bracken, Creed and Gideon of Robert Lee, TX; granddaughter Danielle Hurd of Monmouth, OR; granddaughter Mikaela Hurd Brown and husband Duane Brown with great grandson Gavin Brown and great granddaughter Olivia Brown of Grand Prairie, TX.
A celebration of life with immediate family and friends will be held at a time and location to be determined in the Spring of 2020.
