years ago, Sept 30, 1921 in Tarnapol, Poland. Her parents Paulina and Friedrich Fischer were Volga Germans
emigrating to America from Russia, and Caroline was born during their journey. She was raised and attended Carl
Schurz high school in Chicago. In 1942 she married Frank LaSorella and they had four children: Joel (Joyce) of
Portland, Oregon, Jeffrey (Brenda) of Mukilteo, and Cissie Scott and Nancy Ashmore of Silverdale, Washington.
Frank died in 1978. Caroline married Hugh Arzbaecher of Chicago in 1987. By her own admission, she led a good life
filled with travel, many dear friends and many accomplishments. Caroline succeeded in whatever she put
her hand to, whether as executive secretary in the insurance industry, artist of various media, or loving wife, mother and
grandmother. She was a born optimist and saw the good in even trying situations and in most people. Because she was
very positive and full of love, she was loved and admired by all who knew her, especially by her grandchildren, Jeff
(Lisa), Marcus (Heidi), Alex (Aisha), Andrew, Jordan, Sam, Nicholas, Paulina and Jeffrey Alec. She also had two greatgrand
children, Max and Mia Hale, as well as step-daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Terry Polena of Port St. Lucie,
Florida. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 18th at 2 PM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 4215 Pine Road in
Bremerton. Caroline and her family greatly appreciate the help and support provided by the Kitsap County Hospice
Services and suggest that in lieu of flowers and remembrances, contributions be made to Hospice of Kitsap County
