Daughter of the late Iola and Edwin Sheffield, Ruth is survived by her cherished sister and brother-in-law, Alison and Donald Perrott and predeceased by her brother Donald Blair Sheffield. Ruth was a beloved Aunt to Janice DeYoung (John), David Perrott (Karen), Joan Pantlin (the late Doug), Judy Kitching (Rick Nagel) and Richard Perrott (Daniella). She will be lovingly remembered by her many great and great-great nieces and nephews as well as by her dear friend Linda Tyler and her daughters Jenna and Kendra who called Ruth Nana.
Ruth was born and raised in Brantford and spent 35years as a kindergarten teacher with the Brant County Board of Education. During that time, she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from McMaster University. Ruth was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, where she was a longtime member of the choir and many other groups. As a lover of classical music, she supported the Brantford Symphony Orchestra and was active in the Brantford Music Club.
Friends will be received at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME”, 96 West St., on Tuesday, November 8th, 2022 from 4-6pm. A Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church, 70 West St., on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022 at 11am which will be livestreamed. Interment to follow at Farringdon Burial Grounds. As expressions of sympathy donations to First Baptist Church or the SPCA would be appreciated.
