Peacefully after a brief struggle at the Brantford General Hospital, Ruth was in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her husband Larry (2009) of 62 years, parents Moses and Ada and siblings Howard, Roy, Rustin, Ivan, Rendle, Everett and Doris. Proud and supporting mother of Garry and Cindy of Vanessa, loving Nanny of Jennifer and Marc Lorelli of Northville, Michigan, John and Jessie Gallant of Highland Ranch, Colorado and Becky and Gunter Whetstone of Troy, Alabama. Proud great grandmother of Julia, Olivia and Maria Lorelli and Brady and Charlotte Mae Gallant. Ruth was known for her apple pies, Christmas short bread cookies and competitive spirit as a euchre player. Ruth is also survived by sisters-in-law Ann Gallant of New Hampshire and Shirley Gallant of PEI, she and Larry’s caring nieces and nephews Rosemarie Peters and Eleanor Doiron of PEI, Rendle Gallant and family of New Hampshire, Arlene Gallant-St.Onge and family of Quebec, Philip Gallant of Oyster Bed Bridge, PEI, Terry Crump and family of Kitchener and extended family in Prince Edward Island and Massachusetts. Ruth will be sadly missed by all her family, neighbours and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Riverview Terrace where Ruth enjoyed the last two years with new friends and activities. Also, thanks to staff at Brantford General Hospital for their care and compassion.
The family will receive friends at the “Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home & Chapel” 96 West Street on Sunday, May 24th, 2015 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Paris on Monday, May 25th, 2015 at 11am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Paris.
