She was the love of my life and I will always love her. When I was fighting health problems, she would  always be by my side

We are very saddened to hear the news of Rita's passing.  Over the past many years, we have had the opportunity to service the Brant Artillery Gunners Club with our wines, and had the pleasure  of dealing with Rita. We are deeply sorry to hear of Rita's passing.  We were very blessed to have Rita teach our three children, Tim, Tracy and Joe.  She was such a compassionate, carrying and understanding teacher who always had a warm smile and positive approach to the children.    There are many many children whom had wonderful experiences in Rita's classroom and those memories will be treasured for a lifetime.  Rita also became a very dear friend over the years, she was instrumental in my decision to also become a teacher and was very supportive and encouraged me throughout the process. I have many wonderful memories of our early days as students at Holy Cross school in Miss Jenkins class. Rita was always a positive ,friendly person and her beautiful smile would light up a room. Later we worked together at St . Peter school. She was a great staff  member, always working  hard to make  school a positive and enjoyable experience for  the students.
 She will be remembered with much love and admiration.

To Jim and the Olmstead / Hoo' families , my sincere condolences for your sad loss of dear Rita. While we didn't teach together, I knew Rita was one of those teachers who made a difference in her student's lives.  
Rita will certainly be missed by her other "family" at the Gunner's Club. She  always  had a smile and a warm welcome for those in attendance at  the many different functions held at the Gunner's over the  years.  Rita and Jim were so deeply  involved with and committed to the preservation of the memories of all the Veterans who initially made up the membership of the Gunners. They both have supported  incorporating the younger Veterans and current serving members of CAF into the "Gunners Family".
 Rita will be truly missed by all  with whom she came in contact. 
So sorry I am unable to attend her  Celebration of Life on the 26th. God Bless and  may perpetual light shine upon her.

Rita and I grew up together on Grey Street.  We were friends for many years; standing up at each other's weddings and celebrating the birth of our children.   We grew apart, geography mainly, but she was in my heart and prayers always.   Rest in peace dear friend.

Aunt Rita was a beautiful person both inside and out. She was my favorite aunt. You could always feel her love for you every time you were around her. I am going to miss that in my life. I am grateful to know such a loving soul. She was one of a kind and a very special person. Thank you aunt Rita. I will always love you. 

One of those special teachers who made a difference. Both Laura & Vince have such good memories of their Gr.1 year with her. She became my inspiration to become a teacher. Our thought and condolences to Rita's family.

Down to earth and compassionate lady. As a colleague, she always brought her "A Game". We worked together for a short time where I saw first hand, her love of " the kids".  A super organizer and a very organized teacher. She always challenged people who didn't put "the kids" in the front of all actions.  She left her mark wherever she walked. I admired her deep desire (along with husband Jack) and the rest of the team to resurrect The Gunners Club. Prayers and warm thoughts to her beautiful family.
