Well done my good, spunky and faithful servant. Enter into your rest. The five generations of nieces and nephews of Muriel Wilma Harrington are sad to announce our aunts peaceful passing on March 17, 2021 in her 98th year. Surrounded by three generations she closed her eyes on earth and opened them in heaven. Our aunt lived an incredible life that was filled with Christian service, love, and generosity. At the age of 27 she answered God’s call on her life to be a missionary in Bolivia South America. In her 40 years of service there she learned the Spanish language then went on taught music and English and worked at a Christian Radio station and touched countless lives. She loved to tell her family her stories and will be remembered for her bible and Spanish trivia questions. Upon returning to Canada she resided in Brantford. She got her licence for the first time and enjoyed the freedom that gave her. She enjoyed being able to travel to Nova Scotia on a few occasions to see her nieces and nephews and families that reside there. She filled her days with various faith activities including praying from a prayer list that had many names on it, and was an active member of First Baptist Church and sang alto in the choir. She was a member of Canadian Baptist Women, First Baptist Mission Circle and the United Empire Loyalist. She loved being with family and hearing their stories. She was a big part of the lives of Jack and Marcie Harrington, Patty and John Attwell, and Sandy, Jamie, Emily, Cassandra, Levi and Emma Werkman and fondly remembered by Don Werkman. Her presence in our lives with be greatly missed. She will also be missed by many friends throughout North and South America. Visitation will be held at Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home (96 West St., Brantford) on Saturday, March 20 from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. directly followed by a celebration of Muriel’s life in the Thorpe Suite.
