Sadly, on December 29th, 2016, Michael in his 97th year, passed away with his children Andrew and Kristina by his side. Predeceased by Alexandra (Olenka) in 2011 his wife of 60 years. Michael was also predeceased by his father Dr. Boleslaw Zegota-Rzegocinski, and mother Kazimiera (Guzikowska), and all his brothers and sisters who resided in Poland. Michael is also survived by a granddaughter Robin, and a niece Krystna Rzegocinska-Pelech, and many other great nieces and nephews in Poland and the USA.
Michael proudly served in WWII under British and Canadian command, as part of the Polish Allied Forces. Dad earned a degree from University of Grenoble, Grenoble France in Law and Commerce, and attained a degree as a Textile Engineer from the University of Leeds, Leeds, England after WWII. He was retired from Harding Carpets, Brantford for over 30 years. Michael was a devoted family man, who loved the outdoors, fishing, bird carving, oil painting, sailing, and also had many other hobbies and interests.

At the family’s request, cremation has taken place. We invite all family and friends to a celebration of his life at THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, on 96 West Street, Brantford, ON N3T 3E7 on Thursday January 5th, 2017. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, and a prayer celebration at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's memory may be made to a Hospice of your choice, or the Alzheimer Society, which was a cause close to Michael's heart. Online condolences may be offered at thorpebrothersfh.com
