Miller, Mary Magdaline - Madge (Golden). God has taken back one of his most perfect gifts. It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family announces the passing of our mother on Monday August 1, 2011. She was a wife, mother of 11, sister of 10 and friend to all who knew and loved her. Predeceased by her husband Harold (Snook), February 1980, daughter Eileen (stillborn) March 1965, son Charles, August 2005 and her parents Marguerite and Charles Golden, Mary is finally at rest and at peace. She leaves behind her devoted children: Leone McCracken (Graham), Mary Muir (Jim), Clarence Miller (Colleen), Barbara Fox, Angela Nadon (Andy), Michael Miller (Pat), Sandra MacLennan (Brent), Audrey Gommier (Dean) and Kerri Kilik (John). Predeceased by her sisters Jean, Leone, Audrey, Veronica, and brothers Jack, Arthur and Fred. Mary will be missed by her surviving brothers Marquis Golden (Madeleine) and Kenneth Golden (Beverly). Mary will also be missed by her 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mary leaves behind her lifelong friend, travelling companion and cottager, Beryl Dungavell. Mary will be remembered for her determination, strong will and her firm belief in her faith. Her religious beliefs conquered all she encountered and this and her compassion lives in us all. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 4 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home, 96 West Street. The funeral mass will be at St Mary’s Church, 133 Murray St at 11 a.m., Friday, August 5. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Norfolk General Hospital for the compassion and exceptional care extended to our mother in her final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary’s memory can be made to Norfolk General Hospital Foundation. Rest in peace Mom, until we meet again!
