Pre-deceased by parents Enid Ruth Blume (March 5, 2015) and Lewis Edward “Ted” Blume (May 6, 1999).
He is survived by wife and friend Brenda, children Matthew (Jonelle) and Sarah, grandson Ezra and sister Martha (Peter).
John will primarily be remembered as a father and musician, however his 25 year career as an x-ray technician at Brantford General Hospital, will be fondly remembered by his work family for his high skill level as well has his highly developed sense of humour.
Not widely known is his first career in Meteorology (Ottawa/Scarborough). However, this was short-lived when he learned that his first posting would be broaching the perimeter of the Arctic Circle.
His reputation as a tasty bass player was evident in his ability to reproduce music that he heard, without having seen it on any form of sheet music, although he did eventually read music.
He is highly regarded for his contribution to the bands “Cornerstore”/ “North Shore”, and most recently “the Mushy Peez” where he was reunited with old friends, Bill Stolba and Debra Porter.
A celebration of life will be announced a later date, when family can be certain of safety for his friends and family.
