It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Carole Anne Bishop (nee Beaman) on Thursday April 20, 2017 at the Brantford General Hospital, one month shy of her 81st birthday with her family by her side. Wife of the late Kenneth Bishop (1990). Loving mother of Mike and Debbie, Brian and Kim, Marg and Greg Phillips. Much loved gramma of Nicole and Warren Schween, Carl and Niki, Megan and Joel Phillips, Malinda McGee. Special G.G. to Mikaila, Nolan, Carter, Ethan, Conner, Dion, Willow and Quinn. Survived by siblings Judy Holley, Margaret (Mo) Touizrar, Roger (Dana) Beaman and by inlaws Trudy (Gerry) Baumgart, Gord, Janet (Wayne) Harvel, step-mother Alberta Beaman and by many nieces and nephews.
Carole went to Ryerson Polytechnic and Brantford Business College and worked as a bookkeeper for many years while also keeping Ken’s business (Bishop & Featherston Electric) on track.
She was an avid reader especially science fiction and fantasy, excellent seamstress and quilter, amazing cook and baker, loved gardening, politics, volunteered for many years in the kitchen at the Beckett Seniors Center and active member of the Brant Heritage Quilters Guild.
Always ready to help, she never said no when asked – selfless to the end.
The family will receive friends at the THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 96 West St Brantford Wednesday April 26, 2-4 & 7-9 with Celebration of Life in the chapel Thursday April 27 @ 11am.
Many thanks go out to the first responder paramedics, police and emergency room staff of the Brantford General Hospital for the excellent care received. The Angels of the Critical Care Unit at the BGH have a special place in our hearts for the exceptional care given to mom.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
