Carol Edmund Burns

With the honour of knowing such a wonderful man, the loving wife and family of Carol Burns announce with sadness his passing on Sunday December 4, 2011at the age of 93. Beloved husband of 65 years to Marie (MacNeil). Loving father of 14 children; Rochelle Iino (Tomo), Bobby (Joy), Micheal, Karen Short (deceased), Leona Foster (Ted), David, Cathy Boyce (Ted), Shirley Norris (Rick), Margie Yamamoto (David), Brenda Gavloski (Jim), Theresa Davis (Bill), Pamela Jacobi (Steve), D’Arcy, Tammy Quin (Jim). Dear grandfather of 31 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and predeceased by a granddaughter Amanda and a grandson Micheal. Carol was the youngest of 10 children and the last surviving member of his siblings. He will be fondly remembered by his brothers and sisters-in-law and three generations of cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the “Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home and Chapel”, 96 West Street on Tuesday December 6th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm with parish prayers at 8:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Basil’s Church on Wednesday December 7, 2011at 11 am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the St. Vincent dePaul Society would be appreciated.
