Born in Castropignano, Campobasso Italy to her mother Elfina Cicchese, who she has now joined. She was born into an artisan family and led a somewhat privileged childhood. At the early age of 14 she went to be schooled at the Monastery to learn her trade. She spent her early years as a seamstress and teacher, running her own sewing school and dress shop. Anna was enchanted by her childhood friend Nunzio while visiting his homeland from Canada. Within weeks, Anna and Nunzio were married, left for Canada, to make Brantford their home. They’ve been inseparable for over 60 years. Anna became a loving mother of three children, whom she dedicated her life to. While raising their family, Anna and Nunzio established and ran the family business, DiFelice Confectionary. Anna’s devout faith and generous attitude contributed to her active involvement in the Catholic Church community. She was a member of the Italian Church choir, organized annual pilgrimages and was a founding member of the San Padre Pio prayer group. For over 60 years, she was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League. Family and her faith were the cornerstones of her happiness. Anna loved being surrounded by her family and adored her three loving grandchildren who loved spending time with her. Daily visits with family and friends gave her tremendous joy. Seen as a second mother by many, she was loved by young and old. Very passionate in nature and an advocate for all that she cared about, she instinctively gave time and effort to anybody in need without a second thought. People have always gravitated towards her generous nature, her kindness and who she was. When people speak of Anna, they say she was loyal, selfless, smart, charitable, devoted, generous, and extremely kind. What made Anna special was having the ability to share these attributes with other people. Anna is now watching over and guiding her husband Nunzio, her children Cristina, Angela and Jeff, John and Lucia, and her grandchildren Isabella, Bruno, and Massimo. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West St., on Wednesday, October 27th, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
