Psalms 116:15
Walter M. Baldwin was born May 11, 1936 in Lumpkin, Georgia to the late Clyie and Sadie Baldwin. He was the second eldest of three children. Walter received his early education in Georgia.
Walter worked for Canada Dry Beverage Company as a truck driver and warehouse manager for forty-two dedicated years before retiring in June of 1999. Walter was a man full of life and energy; he especially enjoyed traveling, fishing, bowling, playing cards and playing the lottery. With his abundance of hobbies, nothing compared to his love of spending time with his family.
With a smile that could light up the darkest room, Walter often had good words for everyone that he encountered. To know Walter, you knew that he truly enjoyed to cook (which he excelled at) and would feed people. A simple joy of his, was the back and forth with his sister-in-law Essie Curtis about being in his kitchen. Walter was not secretive about his cooking skills; he would share his talents with his grandchildren.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father, which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16
During his walk with Christ, Walter took roots and made decision to make Saint James A.M.E Church his home. Walter was a member of the Sons of Allen and a proud member of the male choir.
