HAYES, Virginia C., 87, of Tampa passed away October 7, 2011. Virginia Carlie Day was born in Hickory Flat, Mississippi on May 24, 1924 to Carl and Ollie Day, where she grew up with five sisters and two brothers. Virginia was an active and faithful member of Bell Shoals Church of Christ. She is survived by Frank, her husband of 57 years; sons, Mark C. Hayes, Michael B. Hayes and wife Janice; daughter, Janet C. Hayes; three grandchildren, Cheri Knapp, Travis Hayes and Jana Stokes; five great-grandchildren, Kristofer, Karlton, Kimber, Alexis, and Colton; and four sisters, Emma Box, Christine Jennings, Melba Grisham, and Charlotte Edmiston. Virginia was dearly loved by her family and will forever be loved and cherished. A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2011 at Stowers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
