Thomas James Hamilton II, 53, of Lithia, FL, passed away May 22nd. He was born to Bethany Hamilton and the late Thomas Hamilton (Big Tom) in Independence, Iowa on Sept. 24, 1960. Tom graduated from Hollywood Hills High School and went on to receive a B.S. from Florida State University. He later earned a Masters in Law at Creighton University. Tom proudly served our country as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps for 22 years. He worked as an ethics lawyer at SOCOM at MacDill A.F.B. until his passing.
Tom was a dedicated FSU alum who loved to tailgate with family and friends at Seminole football games. He enjoyed golf and traveling. He is known and loved by many as a “Griffin Road Boy.” His unwavering commitment to his family and friends will forever be remembered. As we say goodbye to Tom, there will be many memories shared and many tears shed. Tom lived his life to the fullest.
Tom is survived by Jean, his high school sweetheart and wife of 30 years, and his three daughters: Nicolai Wilson (Daniel), Alexandra Hernandez (Devin), and Skye Hamilton. He also leaves behind his brother, Craig Hamilton (Sheri) and his brother and sisters in law, Hank and Annette Jankowski, Jane Micklitz, and Janice Savin. Tom was well loved by his nephews and nieces.
Visitation 6-8 pm Tuesday, May 27 at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, Brandon. Funeral mass 10 am Wednesday, May 28 at Holy Innocent’s Episcopal Church, Valrico.
