Survived by his wife Carolyn of 54 years, by his children Gail, Dell, Ted Jr., and brother Tom, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Ted served 4 years in the United States Air Force. While working at Southland Life Insurance Company, Ted met his wife and became a believer. He was baptized shortly after. After 32 years of being an agent, he was able to retire. Ted went to a Via de Cristo Weekend where he got his story and joke telling gift from the Lord. He became a Chaplain and began serving in the Kairos Prison Ministry which he served for 31 years. He was also a Gleaner for ten years; Ted would pick food from the farmers garden and deliver to the families in need and organizations associated with the poor.
Ted is the author of two books: Modern Day Parables and Jokes, Humor, and Wisdom. Ted's desire was to write his talent for others to pass on. His gift of jokes and storytelling made non-believers open up to the word of God. An awesome legacy not to be forgotten.
Ted has joined his parents T.D. and Idell Harrell and his son Mark in heaven.
Ted is remembered by many as an awesome man of God, a great husband, great father, and a great provider. He served anyone he could and shared the gospel without reservation. He had the gift of telling stories everywhere he went. To Ted, there were no strangers, just people he had not yet met.
