i don’t personally know sue, but i saw her headstone when i went to visit a dear friend of mine who i lost. 

sue and jerry got married in 1968, 53 years before i got together with my current partner. 

december 21st recently passed. i wish sue and jerry a happy anniversary now and beyond forever. they seem like a lovely couple with a lovely family. 

i send my condolences to those impacted by the passing of sue.

I am married to Sue and Jerry's son Chad. I first met them in a small hockey rink. They were both very caring and welcomed me into their family with open arms. Sue was a great cook and I will always cherish the memories of celebrating holidays together, picnics in the park and just hanging out at their home. Sue and Jerry were with me when my father passed and I will always be grateful for their comforting words and hugs. Sue, I will miss you very much but know we will see each other again. I love you.

I first met Sue in 1993 when Moore Business Service, Inc., a major franchisee of H&R Block named me the District Manager as they expanded with a new district comprising the Brandon/Plant City area.  Sue was the first associate  I met in this new district as she was then working summers in the Brandon H&R Block office.  I recall Sue being somewhat quiet but very welcoming and excited for the expansion, but she made it known to me that she and others did not like the chosen district name of "Tampa East".  As I met others in the new district I quickly learned Sue was correct.  With some negotiations with the franchise owners out of Lakeland, they came around and supported the idea of naming the district "East Hillsborough District".  Sue became the Office Manager of the  District Office in Seffner and instructed tax classes for our many new and prior associates.  Sue was dedicated and I treasured our ability to chat about various issues relating to the district.  She encouraged and assisted many tax pros as she taught them what they needed to know to pass the rigorous three part IRS exam to gain the IRS status of Enrolled Agent.  She had a loyal and growing following of clients as she was not only  knowledgeable in tax theory but personable with her clients.  Sue worked with her clients to get every deduction they were eligible for.  Sue was dedicated to her profession and ultimately decided to focus on the clients and tax preparation side of the business.  I still remember how proud she was sharing with me the news that her daughter, Tiff, was enrolling in H&R Block's tax school. 

To Sue's family and many friends, I ask God to hold you close during these difficult times.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Working with Sue the past 21 years she became not only a close friend but a special person in my life that I will miss dearly. At the beginning of every tax season, she would come in on the first day carrying her special stapler and her desk book full of years of knowledge. She would also be holding pictures of her grand-babies and that was the first thing she did was share those pictures with everyone in the office. She kept those precious pictures at her desk and all of her regular clients would start the conversation by asking “are those your grandchildren”?

Sue was a kind, dedicated woman that loved her Family. So, please join me in passing our thoughts and prayers to Sue's Family as they struggle to fill the emptiness left behind.

Sue was one of my mentors when I first began my career at HRBlock.  She was a friend that shaped my views on life and taxes. I’ve only met a few in my lifetime as equally impressive, smart and grounded as her. She's the reason I took and passed my Enrolled Agent license in 1996.

It is not that common at this stage of our careers to have professionals who shape our intellect, interest, and life in general. But Sue did that.
