Sommai Headlee

Sommai Headlee, aged 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 24, 2023, in Hudson, Ohio. She was born on June 18, 1940, in Suphan Buri, Thailand, to Sawat and Patom Woramalee.

Sommai was a devoted wife to Richard Headlee for 45 years until his passing and she was preceded in death by her parents, Sawat and Patom Woramalee and her brothers Somsak and Somchai Woramalee.

She is lovingly remembered and survived by her brother Somsook, sisters Sommart, Ratana, Sawan, and Bungurn Woramalee, and her children: Deacha, Sontaya, Somyot, Prapad Nakmongkol, Helen Berger, and Angelica Dungan.

Her beloved daughters-in-law also survive Sommai Pitchanan, Bualin, and Pathum Nakmongkol and sons-in-law William Berger II and Baxter Dungan JR. Her grandchildren cherished her: Praphon Vassanapradit, Maria Nakmonkol, Thassanee & Jasper Dela Victoria & Songyos Nakmongkol, Haley, Mason, & Breman Berger, Andrew & Bilie Dungan, Deziree Kring & Cody Verink, Katherine & Joseph Savage, and Victoria Dungan. Her great-grandchildren include Wyatt & Andie Dungan, Kristian & Kaydence Wilson, Raelyn Rios, and Easton Verink.

Sommai lived a life dedicated to her family, nurturing each member with endless tough love, crazy wisdom, and generosity. Her legacy of volunteering, gardening, hours of card games, BBQ, and beauty pageants will forever live on through her children, family, and all those whose lives she touched.

A celebration of Sommai's life will be held at

Wat Mongkolratanaram at 5306 Palm River Rd, Tampa, FL 33619, on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wat Mongkolratanaram 5306 Palm River Rd, Tampa, FL 33619, in honor of Sommai's memory.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.

A graveside service for Sommai will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, 2323 W Brandon Blvd., Brandon, FL 33511.
