THURSTON, Roy Jay, Sr., 69, of Tampa entered into rest May 1, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra; granddaughter, Candice Whitaker; sister, Gloria Snyder. He is survived by his two sons, Roy Jay Jr., Michael; two daughters, Joy Whitaker, Dawn Swanner; twelve grandchildren, Clinton Whitaker, Carol Chamberlain, Michael Thurston, Roy Thurston III, Nicholas Thurston, Amanda Thurston, John Burkett Jr., Jeffrey Thurston, Casandra Whitaker, Shyanna Swanner, Tabitha Vazquez, David Arocha; 10 great-grandchildren, Antonio, Isabella, Donna, Diana, Ceira, Lila Mae, Clayton, Jordan, Braden, Trinity; two brothers, Floyd Allen Thurston, Ricky Lee Thurston; two sisters, Pearl Cramer, Tina Marie Thurston. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, interment to follow in Hillsboro Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
