Richard Bhurl Woodruff

Richard B. Woodruff, 83, of Valrico, FL, passed away on Monday, November 30th, 2020. He was born in Michigan City, IN, and had been in Florida since 1986. Richard worked his whole life in both states as a heavy equipment operator, primarily with Woodruff & Sons, Inc., a construction company. He is a Mason in Michigan City, Indiana, and a Shriner at Egypt Shrine in Tampa, FL. He is also a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Brandon, FL.

He is survived by his wife, Renee’ Woodruff of Valrico, FL, sister, Pat Risner of Michigan City, IN, two brothers, Dan Woodruff of Westville, IN and Ed Woodruff of Michigan City, IN; two children, Richard Michael Woodruff and his wife Carol, of Hudson, FL and Bambi Lee Retz of Port Richey, FL; two grandchildren, Brandon Reed and Britni Reed, and two great grandchildren, Zoie and Payton; two step sons, Page Bradham and wife Bridget and granddaughter Maddie of Glen Burnie, MD and Stefan Bradham of DC; two nieces, Robin Risner of Michigan City, IN, and Rhonda Caffrey of Tampa FL; and nephew, Kenny Woodruff of Michigan City, IN. Two sisters have predeceased him, Nancy Childers of Tampa, FL and Susie Woodruff of Michigan City, IN.

Funeral services will be at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home at 2323 W. Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL, on Monday, Dec. 7th: Viewing at 12 noon, Service at 1pm, and Masonic Gravesite Service at 2pm conducted by Brandon Lodge No. 114.
