Pacifico A. Cordon, Jr., M.D., 82, of Brandon, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 14, 2020. He was born in Laog City, Philippines and came to the United States after graduating from Manila Central University College of Medicine in 1965. Dr. Cordon completed his internship and met his beloved wife and medical partner, Yolanda, in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Cordon then moved to Brandon, Florida where he served as a family practitioner for over 35 years. Dr. Cordon served with grace and kindness and was as an active member of the executive committee at Brandon Regional Hospital.
His passion was serving the elderly and one of his greatest pleasures was his 25 years of service as the medical director of Hawthorne Village. Blessed with a charismatic personality, Dr. Cordon was not only a beloved physician, he was also a talented musician and devoted man of God. The greatest joy in his life was his beloved grandchildren.
Dr. Cordon was the son of the late Dr. Pacifico A. Cordon, Sr., and Urolina Albano Cordon. He was preceded in death by Luz M. Generoso, Rosita Cordon and Ferdinand Cordon.
He is survived by his wife, Yolanda A. Cordon, M.D.; children, Marc Cordon and Melissa Cordon; son-in-law, Bryan Black; four adored grandchildren, Zachary, Brady, Pacifico and Mateo; siblings, Wilma Vasquez, Napoleon Cordon, Percival Cordon and Franklin Cordon; and many beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial is planned for Monday, June 22, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, June 23rd at 10:00 am at Nativity Catholic Church in Brandon.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pacifico's memory may be made to Nativity Catholic Church.
