Nancy is survived by her three sons; Michael of Chesapeake, VA, Christopher of Jacksonville, FL and John of Coon Rapids, MN and is preceded in death by her loving husband Charles.
Nancy was born on January 16,1941 in Spencer, WV to Madge and L.W. Young. She graduated from Nursing School in 1962 and married Charles before moving to Florida in 1965. After moving to Florida, she began her more than 50 years nursing career at South Florida Baptist Hospital before transferring to the newly constructed Brandon Community Hospital where she helped to establish the Emergency Room. Her three sons remember her as a beautiful strong and compassionate individual who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Nancy was an accomplished nurse who often received accolades from her superiors and the admiration of her peers. She was a dedicated and witty individual who was passionate about caring for those she came in contact with and ensuring all were welcomed and included. She was an active member of St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and often volunteered to help feed those less fortunate. She accompanied her husband Charles on a medical mission trip to Peru to help apply her skills to those in need. Her absence will be felt by all those lucky enough to have known her.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 18, 2025 from 10:30am to 12pm with a funeral service to begin at 12pm and committal to follow. A reception will be held after the committal service. Fr Alfred Kimaryo will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Nancy's life.
