Mildred Major was born April 24, 1932 to the late Mattie Jane and Thomas James Crafton in Philadelphia, PA. She was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. She met and married the late Isaiah Major and from this union two daughters were born Deborah and Sylvia.
Mildred accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized while attending Cornerstone Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Pa. under the leadership of the late Rev. Harold O. Davis. Later in life she attended Christian Faith Assembly Church in Hainesport, New Jersey under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Maurice Randolph Sr.
Throughout her life she held many positions. She was a diligent worker and retired as a Tax Examiner from the IRS. In 2014, Mildred moved to Tampa, Florida with her daughter Deborah where they both attended World Champions Church under the leadership of Pastors Marcus and Rachel Jenkins.
Mildred loved spending time with her family and loved playing all sorts of games. Bingo & card games were her favorite. she enjoyed teaching all of her grandchildren the art of winning.
All who knew her, knew her unwavering love for her daughters and grandchildren but we all knew she had a special and overwhelming love for all her grandsons.
Preceded her in death were her parents, Mattie and Thomas, sisters Margaret Fenning and Gladys Palmer, brother Joseph James Crafton, Nieces Diane Palmer and Carmella Smith and Nephew Curtis James Palmer.
She leaves to mourn, her daughters, Deborah Mack and Sylvia Bullock-Young (Carlton). Grandchildren, Sharlene Croswell (Keith), James Stokes (Linda), Darrell Bullock (Alanna), Shavonya Jarman (Eric), Dawn Cooper (Mark), Shalai Young and adopted Grandchildren Leslie and Nichole Yarbough. 21 Great Grandchildren, 10 Great-Great Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
