Michael served in the United States Air Force for 8 years where he went on to work for Sarasota County as a Firefighter and Medic. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Seffner where he attended for over 30 years. He was an avid lifelong fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes; he also loved the Rays, Bucs and Lightning. He loved to run marathons while raising money for many charities all across the nation.
Michael leaves behind his children, Andrew Pennington (Shannon) and Courtney Hiter (Ryne); grandchild, Lola Jolene Pennington; mother, Carolyn Pennington; brother, Jim Pennington; sister, Jill Scherer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He now joins in Heaven his father, Donald Pennington.
A memorial service for Michael will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at First Free Will Baptist Church Tampa, 11605 Highway 92 East, Seffner, FL 33584.
