Melvin James Doyen, 82, of Valrico, Florida entered into rest on January 31, 2021. He was born in Islip, New York to the late Celia and Bernard Doyen. Melvin worked in restaurants most of his life. He worked for Valle’s Steak House for 30 years as a chef/ manager from Maine, Florida. Melvin retired from the restaurant business and worked for the Hillsborough county school system as the Head custodian for eight years. He loved hunting and fishing and traveling for his annual fishing trip to the Keys with his dad, son , brother and grandkids. Melvin enjoyed watching Football, and boxing, as well as watching country music singers. He loved to read history books, he loved to cook, and his home. Melvin leaves behind his wife of forty-nine years Gertrude Doyen: his Son Rodger Doyen, grandsons Benjamin Doyen, Patrick Doyen ( Michelle ), Brother Wayne Doyen, and Several Nieces and Nephews. He is in our hearts forever.We love you! The family held a private service to honor the life of Melvin.
