Maria del Carmen Mazza, 68, of Brandon, FL, entered into the arms of the Lord on Monday, August 4, 2014, after a long illness. She was surrounded by her family at her time of death. She was born in Spain, on November 13, 1945. She was decorated in 1976 by the US Navy for unselfishly supporting her husband throughout his Naval career. She traveled with him to Camarillo, California; Norfolk, Virginia; Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; and Rota, Spain; and other faraway places.
She made her home in Brandon in 1989, where she continued to create and inspire a loving household for her family. Maria always had a beautiful smile on her face, and she loved to make people laugh. She always was affectionate, patient, and kind, and she will be missed tremendously by her family and her friends. She is survived by Paul Mazza, her husband of 50 years, and her children, James, Lawrence, and Jessica. She is predeceased by her beloved daughter, Paulette, and her parents.
A Memorial Mass is scheduled for Friday, August 22nd at 10:30am, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Seffner, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Maria’s name to LifePath Hospice, 2470 Telecom Drive, Suite 300 West, Temple Terrace, FL 33637.
