He was born on May 14, 1931 in Tampa, Florida to the late Lila Henry and Leora Glisson Hamilton.
Louis graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1949. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. He retired from CSX in 1993 as a Railroad Engineer. In his free time, Louis enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Joanna Juanita Lee Hamilton; and sister, Lila Mae Risinger.
He is survived by his children, Larry Hamilton, Glenda Hamilton, Linnea White; grandchildren, Jonathan (Jessica) Shumake, David Shumake; great grandchildren, Jocelyn Shumake, Jonah Shumake, Ashley Shumake; many extended family members and friends.
