Linda Lorene Johnson (Watkins), 78, of Dover, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2024. She is rejoicing in heaven with her husband, Hugh “Jack” Johnson and her parents, Gene and Ruby Watkins.
Linda loved spending time in North Carolina and was famous for her strawberry cake. She was a huge Elvis Presley fan and would turn up his records while cleaning the house. She loved God and raised her children to love him too. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dover and later moved her membership to First Baptist Church of Plant City.
She worked at Eckerd Drugs as a pharmacy tech for many years, but stayed busy after retirement. She loved being outside, exercising, and working in the yard. It would not be unusual to see her outside on a ladder trimming the trees.
She is survived by her daughters Shanon Schulte(Eric), Kelli Tharrington(David), and son Tony(Tracie); grandchildren Erin, Alli, and Zachary Schulte and Cooper, Dax, and Diesel Tharrington. She is also survived by her sister, Wanda Johnson(E.C. Springer) and brothers, James Watkins(Sally) and Art Watkins(Barbara).
As a family we would like to sincerely thank Lifepath Hospice for the support for our mother and our family as we faced the loss of a loved one. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Grace Manor in Plant City for the loving, supportive, and complete care of our mother. They cared for us as much as they cared for our mother and we consider them extended family.
