He was predeceased in death by a son - Brian Keith and parents - father, Francis Leslie, and mother, Ana. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sherry Connors, daughter, Deanna Connors (Moises); son, Lance R. (Amber); brother, Craig (Shea); aunts - Mary Varga, Marion Valenti and Marjorie Connors, sister-in-law Rhonda Doyle, brother-in-law Dean Doyle (Marjorie); 2 grandchildren, Michael Brayden and Ariyah Margarejo; nieces - Alexandria Connors, Keli Salem; nephews - Michael Connors, Israel Doyle, Jason Lynn, James Sucarichi, Dustin Sucarichi, Kevin Kimble, Great Nephew-Caleb Kimble, Great Niece-Katie Kimble.
Lance met Sherry at the age of 16 and they became High School sweethearts, they married 5 years later after graduation. After graduating from Tampa Catholic, Lance proudly served as a law enforcement officer with the Hillsborough County Sheriff Office for 34 years. In his career at Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, he filled many positions, Field Training Officer, Driving Instructor, Bomb Squad Commander and worked in Homeland Security. After retirement from the Sheriff Office, he worked part-time with Raymond James Stadium and with TSI Adjusters. He became a Mason, a member of Scottish Rite and a Shriner.
Lance was a member of First Baptist Church of Port Tampa where he served as the Chairman of Finance and devoted his spare time to volunteer wherever they needed his help.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022, Visitation - 1:00 pm, Service - 2:00pm at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon FL 33511 repass following service.
