Judy was born in St. Louis, Missouri to James and Dorothea Farris on September 25, 1951. She met the love of her life and best friend, Daniel Lee Wright in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and they were married on November 19, 1966, recently celebrating 57 years of marriage together.
Judy retired in 2005 and moved from Colorado to Florida where she became an avid member of the YMCA and was affectionately known as the “Zumba Queen.” Judy’s smile lit up any room she was in, and nothing was more important to her than her family.
Judy is preceded in death by her grandmother, Sophia Arnold, grandmother, Verlena Farris, grandfather, James Ivo Farris Sr., father, James Ivo Farris Jr., mother, Dorothea Mae Farris, brothers, Russell Farris, Sirvan Farris, and James Ivo Farris III.
Judy is survived by her husband, Daniel Wright, sons, Sjon Wright (Ralena) and Curtis Wright (Terri) and daughter Kelley Wright (Isaiah), grandchildren, Darien Wright, Khaijah Jeans, Kyanah Jeans, Xander Wright, Lauryn Wright, and Isaiah Wright, sisters, Diane Farris, Shirley O’Quinn, Jamie Archer, Dodie Grimes, brother Fenton Farris, and aunts Sue White and Deborah Farris.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 27, 2023, at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, FL 33511, with the Reverend Duaney Griffin, officiating. Livestreaming will be made available for out-of-state families.
