Jose Antonio Feliciano Lopez, age 62, a resident of Brandon, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016. Born on February 5, 1954, he was a native of Coamo, Puerto Rico. He is survived by his wife Nancy of 28-years, daughters, Victoria and Jessica; sons, Jose Omar and Tony; and four grandchildren.
Jose was a retired detective with the City of Tampa Police Department, who served for 26-years, where he worked in Narcotics, Homicide, Robbery, and Criminal Intelligence. He was awarded over 30 commendations and was selected as Officer of Year in recognition of his accomplishments. Jose was also a veteran of the United States Army and served with the 101St Airborne Division.
After retirement Jose moved to Puerto Rico with his wife; always motivated to spend time with his family and loved ones. Those who knew him also knew him as a loving and dedicated family man, friend and colleague.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, from 5-9 pm at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, FL 33511. A Church service will follow on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 509 N. Florida Avenue, Tampa, FL 33602.
