After retiring from the Navy he continued to serve as a volunteer in his church, New Hope Methodist in Brandon, FL. There, he ran the sound board for Sunday worship, was the financial secretary and church treasurer, and eventually the in-house IT. Everything he knew about computers was self-taught starting in the early 1980's. All told, he volunteered almost 4 decades at New Hope Church and considered it a blessing to work behind the scenes for hi church. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
