Joanne Marie Feeney

Joanne Feeney, 87, passed away peacefully at her home at Concordia Village on February 18, 2023. She was born on May 27, 1935, in Bay City, Michigan, to Katherine and Arthur Zielinski. A veteran of the Air Force, Joanne worked as a Registered Nurse for many years. She retired from Tampa General Hospital as a specialist in diagnostic ultrasound.

Joanne was a Master Gardener and shared her knowledge of plants and the outdoors with her children and grandchildren. She loved the beaches of the Gulf and would walk for miles collecting shells. In 1983, she married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Feeney. They merged their ten children into one big clan who will miss her dearly.

Bob preceded her in death, as did their sons Craig Hill and Patrick Feeney, and grandchildren Devyn Burke and Kimo Ralph. She is survived by her siblings, Judy (Zielinski) Volk of Auburn, Michigan and Gerald Zielinski of Manistique, Michigan, her children Laurie (Feeney) Brown, Kathie (Feeney) Ralph, Robert Feeney, Jr, Shawn (Feeney) Burke, Robin (Hill) Morrow, Karen Hill, Daniel Feeney and Jeff Hill. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Joanne’s life will take place later. In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree in her memory.
