I knew jimmy through my husband John, they were partners at DSNY. The biggest thing i remember about jimmy was his huge smile, and always seemed to be excited about life in general, most times i drove down his block, he was detailing a car 😊, sonething he seemed to love.

My heartfelt condolences to the McQuade Family, Melissa, Michael, and Robbie.  Though I had not seen them for a time, I could never forget what beautiful people they were.  Their home was always such a welcoming place.  James had one of the biggest hearts I know.  He always made you feel extra special.  He was very talented, and there wasn't much he could not do.  He knew how to repair or build anything.  He was always the life of the party and didn't meet a stranger.   He will be missed.  Praying for his family.

My deepest condolences to Melissa and the family. I will never forget the kindness Jimmy showed to my wife when she was battling cancer. That meant the world to her and me. He would literally give anyone the shirt off his back.He will be greatly missed by everyone. Anyone lucky enough to have known Jimmy will never forget him.

Jimmy was a shooting star - a brilliant light of beauty and energy that passed way to soon.  Each time I talked with him he would be certain that he had me laughing before we ended our call, no matter how intense the conversation was. Although I never had the opportunity to know him in person, he was my "adopted little brother", the schmuck. I felt his radiant light the first time I talked with him four years ago and will never forget the conversation.  Once Jimmy touched your life, he was forever imprinted on your soul. I pray your spirit has found the peace you have sought for so many years and your light continues to illuminate those who love and miss you so much. God bless you little brother, your pain has been lifted and we are all better for having known you.

Jimmy was a good man that would do anything for friends and family. He always had a smile and a funny story to share. Jimmy loved his family, his friends,  his dogs, and cars, although not necessarily in that order.  The world is an emptier place without him. To his family go my condolences and prayers.  Hopefully they have Corvettes in Heaven, and no speed limits...

I met Jimmy at Nativity Church.  Jimmy needed  someone who know how to to make slide shows, convert cassette, and albums to dvd's. Well I did one for him. From that day on  for many years we became the best of friends. He always call me Pop's because I was 70 years old and we always talk about life and music.  I told jimmy I grew up in Harlem New York, then I join the Air Force, I retired here at MacDill Air Force Base and stay here. I was always over Jimmy house doing all kinds of tech things for him and his wife.  I am going to miss Jimmy so much. love you son. I am the guy in the Middle in the photo.(Karl S Kindred)

Heaven just got another angel. I never saw you without a smile. And the things you did for other people were a true blessing. You will be missed by many.  I missed my chance to visit you in Florida, I will regret that for a long time. RIP my friend. I hope heaven has a drag strip and you're blasting down it!

My husband, myself, and our kids are so heartbroken over the loss of Jimmy. He not only was our neighbor but he was “Uncle Jimmy” to our kids and a true friend to my husband and I! He has a heart of gold and is one of the most selfless humans I have ever known. His love for my kids was so special he would come over periodically with some new toys for them or to read them books in our living room. My husband works a lot of hours and he was always checking in to make sure I was ok and felt safe. We could not have been more blessed to have him as our neighbor. We will miss him so much, but the memories will last a life time! We have a guardian angel now forever! 

Jimmy was a pleasure to work with. He was a music lover as I am. He loved quality and was so knowledgeable on audio. I still have audio equipment till this day that Jimmy had sold to me, over 18 years ago. I met his Family at their home in Brooklyn where Jimmy Graciously made me feel at home.  Me and Jimmy we're on the phone for 2.5 hours a few months back. It was such a great conversation, as it always was. Such a great guy. He will be missed. Blessings and Condolences.

I knew Jimmy via the Boomboxery forum and even though we never met personally, as I live in the UK, that didn’t matter. He made a lasting impression of integrity, passion and honesty which struck a chord in the community, making Jimmy most highly regarded and respected.
I made friends with him years ago and am deeply devastated so am sending some long distance love and hugs to you all.

I have been praying for the mcquade family, since learning  of your lost. Jimmy Mc ? Wow. I too got to know his family as soo many of you all. Playing a gig in Brooklyn with my brother who played drums also a sanman by the Verrozanno bridge I met his mother lol I think it was her birthday wow.. Jimmy loves his mom lol. Jimmy, my friend and "brother", I will miss all the great times we shared and hearing your laughter when playing jokes on each other.  Once I gave Jimmy a fake scratch-off lottery ticket, and when he thought he won $10,000, he was jumping up and down in the street and called his entire family.  The thrill was short-lived once he found out it wasn't real, but he still loved me nevertheless and began plotting his next prank against me.  There is an emptiness in my heart and I will miss you deeply.  Keep smiling in heaven and watch over your family and friends.  I pray that your family finds peace and comfort at this difficult time. 

I would like to start off saying, My condolence to the Mcquade family that I know and love as my own. I first met Jimmy when we work for department of sanitation AFF unit , and we click  right away, Man !! He was funny , and fun to be Around,  I been around jimmy and his family for years , the Christmas parties every year. And was Treat it just like family, with lots of love . I also got to meet Jimmy’s mother , what a awesome lady, she used to call me her son.   Those who never met Jimmy’s wife Melissa,  what a Beautiful woman with a big heart, and  Barbara.  Awesome .  When I got that call from Vinny. That  I worked with also , I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.  Jimmy will be missed ( every time we talked on the phone he always end it by saying I love you brother,  Jimmy I love you too. You will be missed very much, 

James I’m still trying to come to terms with this. I known you for 25 years and every moment was always with us laughing and making jokes. From day 1 you were always a stand up guy and had everyone’s back. You  were always there for me and would give anyone the shirt off your back. You loved your cars , radios, and music. You had the cleanest RORO in the sanitation the department. We started out as co-workers then friends then brothers. I’m sure a lot of people that crossed paths with you feel the same. I’m gonna miss you forever and never forget you.May you rest in eternal peace and  watch over your family and friends. Jimmy worked for me in Bks when AFF was disbanded. Loved the guy the first day I meet him . Class Act always a smile and a joke. Missed him when he retired and moved to Fla. . He was the most Italian Irish guy I knew. Typical Brooklyn Guy.  When my son was going to start to drive, I asked him about a car and he quickly shot down the car my son wanted said it was to fast for him. I quickly took his advice.... He was excited to start his new chapter in is life.. James may you Rest In Peace and God look over your family 

James I met on his last trip to New York. James city! I knew his mom n aunt n they both had great personalities. I being much older, talking with him about so many NY past happenings. James loved kids n lived life to the fullest. Michael James son was so important to him . He taught Michael aLl he met a lot of life’s lessons. A real mans man. A real great soul. The sparkle of his heart through his beautiful soul . We now have you so angel watching those lucky friends who shared moments with James. RIP n serenity.......

Jimmy was always the life of the party and wanted to ensure everyone was happy, had what they needed and would do anything to help you whether he just met you or knew you for years. He was a giver. I remember the first day i met Jimmy. He was loud and the center of attention. I loved the contagious happiest he gave to everyone. He always told me we were brothers and would drop anything to help if you needed it. The yearly stops to the firehouse  to share his stories of 9/11 has inspired soo many first responders. I will
miss you dearly but continue to spread the stories and legacy of your life. Love you Jimmy!
