

Le sobreviven dos hermanas menores en Nueva York, sus dos hijas Irma N Rivera y Norma I Rodriguez-Cotto en Brandon, Florida. Ademas sus ocho nietos/a y ocho biznietos/a. Fue precedida por sus padres Arturo Cotto y Ruperta Torres, nueve de sus hermanas y su unico hermano, Arturo (Tito). Su esposo Julian Rodriguez Acosta y su hijo Arturo Rodriguez Cotto (Turin).
Iris Delia Cotto de Rodriguez nacio el 8 de Mayo de 1931 en la ciudad de Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Iris nacio de Ruperta Torres y Arturo Cotto. Completo sus estudios en el Colegio Santa Rosa de Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Se muda a Nueva York en donde comenzo a trabajar. Se caso en 1ro de Julio del 1950 con Julian Rodriguez Acosta, mecanico de profesion, con quien tuvo sus primeros dos hijos. Arturo Rodriguez (Turin) e Irma Rodriguez. Luego de 10 anos en Nueva York la familia se traslada nuevamente a Puerto Rico. En donde comienzan a trabajar arduamente para mantener su familia. Una vez ya establecidos en Puerto Rico les nacio otra hija, Norma I Rodriguez. De ellos aprendimos a ser fervientes patriotas orgullosos de nuestra isla de Puerto Rico y los Estados Unidos. Una mujer esforzada, trabajadora, honesta, y virtuosa… buscaba vertir sus hijos apropiadamente para cada ocasion especial. Enseno a sus hijos la importancia de manejar apropiadamente el dinero pero tambien les enseno muchos juegos de infancia. Madre dedicada, les inculco a sus hijos la importancia de completar sus estudios y tener una educación completa. Siempre estuvo al tanto de las noticias diarias para informar a su familia e iglesia. Fue un miembro activo y comprometido en la iglesia de voluntaria.
Su servicio de celebración de vida está programado para este Lunes, 21 de Abril, a las 5 de la tarde con un servicio a las 6pm. Todos están bienvenidos a asistir y a celebrar la vida de Iris Delia Cotto de Rodriguez.
La familia desea agradecer a todo aquel que de una manera u otra la ayudo en su largo periodo de convalecencia. Además estamos muy agradecidos por las atenciones ofrecidas por todo el personal de Brisas del Caribe. En donde pasó sus últimos meses en paz hasta despedirla hacia la vida eterna con nuestro Padre Celestial.
English- Iris Delia Cotto de Rodriguez passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16 at 8:35 a.m. at her care home in Brandon, Florida, at the age of 93. She is survived by two younger sisters in New York, her two daughters Irma N. Rivera and Norma I. Rodriguez-Cotto in Brandon, Florida, as well as her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Arturo Cotto and Ruperta Torres , nine of her sisters, her only brother Arturo (Tito) , her husband Julian Rodriguez Acosta , and her son Arturo Rodriguez Cotto (Turin) . Iris Delia Cotto de Rodriguez was born on May 8, 1931, in the city of Bayamón, Puerto Rico, to Ruperta Torres and Arturo Cotto. She completed her studies at Colegio Santa Rosa in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. She later moved to New York where she began working. On July 1, 1950, she married Julian Rodriguez Acosta , a professional mechanic, with whom she had her first two children, Arturo Rodriguez (Turin) and Irma Rodriguez. After ten years in New York, the family returned to Puerto Rico, where they worked hard to provide for their family. Once settled, they welcomed another daughter, Norma I. Rodriguez . From her, we learned to be devoted patriots, proud of our island of Puerto Rico and of the United States . She was a strong, hardworking, honest, and virtuous woman who always made sure her children were properly dressed for every special occasion. She taught her children the importance of managing money wisely, and she also shared many childhood games with them. A devoted mother, she instilled in her children the importance of completing their studies and receiving a full education. She always stayed informed on current events to keep her family and church community informed as well. She was an active and committed volunteer member of her church. Her Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Monday, April 21 at 5:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Iris Delia Cotto de Rodriguez. The family would like to thank everyone who, in one way or another, helped during her long period of convalescence. We are especially grateful for the care provided by the entire staff at Brisas del Caribe , where she spent her final months in peace until her transition to eternal life with our Heavenly Father.
