George was born in Manhattan, NY on May 8, 1928. He was predeceased by his wife, Leticia (Santiago) Cintron. He is survived by his son, George Cintron Jr., his spouse Olga Melendez, daughters Elena Santiago, her spouse Luis Lopez and Kathy Perez, her spouse Giovanni Perez, three grandchildren, Marcus Santiago, his spouse Kayla (Ramos) Santiago, George ‘Meshech’ Cintron, III, and Melina Perez, four great-grandchildren, Dezmond, Sylis, Adelina, and Alivia Santiago.
George met the love of his life, Leticia (Letty) and married in 1949. They were married 54 years before her passing in 2003. George is a Veteran of the U.S Navy and proudly served his country during World War II. He retired from PanAm Airways after 31 years as a successful aircraft mechanic. Even after he retired from PanAm, George could not sit still and worked part-time at Tampa Electric, Target and Brandon Regional Hospital. George had a huge heart and loved spending time with his beloved family. He loved to dance, travel and tell jokes. He enjoyed eating out for breakfast and dinner regularly and was known for ‘treating’ everyone with him. He was a great handyman to anyone that needed something fixed and rightfully earned the nickname ‘MacGyver’. George could fix anything and always had the right tool.
